Hi, Google ads don't show up on the Mobify Studio. Were Google ads not supported on the free version?

Hi Ko,

Thanks for your question. Google ads are supported by Mobify Studio. However, the ads won’t show up on the desktop version of the page within studio because scripts are not executed on this page.

If you look at the mobile preview you should see your google ads loading correctly for your mobile site.

Hope this helps,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I just tested to see if the ad shows up on preview mode on my iPhone, but it still doesn't show. The preview link I received from Mobily Studio is http://go.mobify.com/pow-tv-smartphone-1/revision
Does it have to be published to see the ad properly?

Thank you for your help.

Hi Ko,

Your changes don’t need to be published to see Google Ads. The ads aren’t showing up because the Google Ads Javascript is missing from the page. You’ll need to include it in your templates in order to see the ad. We have some documentation about using Javascript in Mobify Studio that should help.

Cheers,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

After placing the script, the ad showing fine on the preview window within the Mobify Studio, but when I access a preview link (sent from Publishing panel) by actual mobile device, the ad turns into Google's general default ad (Google logo with a phrase "The new way to Google" with "Get the free app button"). Do you have any idea?

Hi Ko,

The behaviour you’re seeing is due to our tag injector. Our tag injector runs your site through a proxy, making it seem like it came from a different domain. This domain hasn’t been crawled by Google’s ad crawler, so that is probably why you’re seeing the default ad (more info here).

Once you’ve added our tag to your site you should see the correct adds when previewing on a device. If you need help getting our tag installed onto your site we have a document here that you might find helpful.

Thanks,
Jennifer
